Lectionary
Psalm 16
Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
You hold my lot.
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
In the night also my heart instructs me.
I keep the Lord always before me;
Because the Lord is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore, my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
My body also rests secure.
You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy
In your right hand are pleasures forever more
I Think They Don’t Know

A poem for Dean as I gaze out our breakfast window
The birds are singing,
trees leaf a delicate green,
roses rise proud with first grand bloom,
grape leaves peek from brown, wintered vines.
They, I think, know nothing of this;
of human souls, huddled inside,
wondering, anxious,
wiping, cleaning, in their 6’ cocoon.
A window brings joy;
sun, colors, white clouds in the sky,
bird wings whirling in watered fountain,
doves cooing, bees finding their mark,
freedom in this sudden silence.
I think they don’t know of the sick breeze that blows…
Give thanks.
